| Frank
Marocco
is undoubtedly the foremost and busiest accordionist currently
working in the recording studios of the Los Angeles and
Hollywood. As you will see from his prolific list of movie
and television credits below, Frank is the person film directors
and producers demand in Hollywood when they require a seasoned
professional accordionist who can meet their rigorous demands to
play any style at any moment in the film or television score.
In addition to those talents, Frank is an incredible jazz artist
who has played and recorded jazz with groups all over the globe.
Unparalleled in the jazz arena, his style is always fresh,
innovative, and chock full of intelligent yet musical ideas.
Frank began his musical career began in
Chicago, Illinois where at age 17 he took first place in a
national music contest. He performed his winning solo with Mark
Weber and the Chicago Pops Orchestra playing before several
thousand people in Soldiers Field.
Frank spent the next few years traveling all
over the U.S.A. with his quartet playing the top hotels and
clubs including Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe and Palm Springs, finally
settling in Los Angeles.
He later worked with the Les Brown Band and
Bob Hope, working on Mr. Hope's television shows and traveling
with him around the world entertaining the servicemen.
He also did six Love Boat cruises with the
Les Brown Band as a featured soloist. In
recent years Frank has done a great deal of studio session work
on the West Coast including movie sound tracks, television,
records and jingles. He was nominated eight years in a row as
Most Valuable Player by the National Academy of Recording Arts
and Sciences (N.A.R.A.S.). He has recorded with Madonna,
composed music for the "Charlie's Angels" remake in 2000 and
continues to perform with a whole host of many popular recording
artists.
We at FBCAC had the pleasure of sponsoring of first concert
with Frank and we can say without reservation that he is not
only a superb accordionist but an exemplary human being. We
