Milton
was born in Rogers, Texas in 1938 and was interested in
music from an early age. His grandparents were Czech
(Prague) immigrants and ardent Polka and Waltz lovers.
He started taking piano lessons at the age of 10 but
also developed an interest in the unique sound of the
accordion. He eventually bought his first accordion at
the age of 16. Milton played piano in a band through his
high school and college years. When he entered the US
Navy he played brass for the San Diego Navy Band and the
Norman (Oklahoma) Navy Band.
Upon
discharge from the Navy, Milton became first a Texas
State Trooper, then a Texas Ranger, and has been the
Fort Bend County Sheriff for the past 8 years.
Throughout all the years his love for the musical
uniqueness of the accordion has remained unwavering.
Milton played the accordion for 12 years with "Der
Rhinestiens" a polka band that was honored to be
featured for 8 years at the Wurstfest in New Braunfels,
the largest Czech/German fest in the great state of
Texas.
Over
the years Milton has accumulated 3 Yamaha keyboards, 1
Stradivarius piano accordion and 3 Excelsior piano
accordions. Milton loves to sing and play Waltzes and
Polkas whenever the opportunity presents itself, which
is a couple of times a week.
